United Way of Greater Charlottesville is thrilled to announce the ENVISION Minority Enterprise Business Grants Program, with support from the Albemarle County and City of Charlottesville Offices of Economic Development. This grant will provide access to affordable capital for minority-owned businesses that are ready to expand and add new staff.
The grant application opens Friday, April 21 with a special announcement at the West Stage (CODE Building Courtyard) during the Tom Tom Festival Block Party! Grant applicants and the community as a whole are invited out to celebrate this special kick off!
Grant Details:- Grants will fund up to $10,000 in business improvements intended to scale operations, such as increased inventory, new equipment, website development, and marketing.
- Grants are available to businesses that recorded $200,000 or less in net income in FY22 and have a payroll of no more than 25 employees.
- Businesses must be at least 51% owned by one or more minority individuals (African American, Asian America, Hispanic America, Native American).
This program complements United Way’s existing partnership with the Charlottesville Area Chamber of Commerce Minority Business Alliance focused on supporting local minority entrepreneurs.
