National Director of Client and Community Engagement
In his role as National Director of Client and Community Engagement, Martize is providing leadership in our expansion to new Fountain Fund communities. Working with our staff and community partners across the nation, Martize ensures that Fountain Fund programming and implementation are informed by and responsive to the lived experience of our Client Partners.

Martize has been a community mentor and leader in the Greater Charlottesville region since 2013. He is on the steering committee of the Albemarle-Charlottesville Reentry Council and the advisory board of Network2Work and UVA’s Pipelines and Pathways. Through Redemption Mentoring Services, he mentors at-risk kids in Charlottesville and surrounding counties, and works closely with Readykids RealDads program. In 2020, he co-founded a non-profit organization called Peace in the Streets, whose mission is to provide Charlottesville’s Black community with new tools and methods to constructively resolve conflicts without involving law enforcement.

Through Home to Hope and Piedmont Virginia Community College, Martize has received his certifications as a Peer Support Specialist, a WRAP Facilitator and in Motivational Interviewing. In 2021, Martize graduated from the first cohort of UVA Edge, a one-year education program for working adults at the University of Virginia. In 2022, Martize was selected to participate in Stand Together Foundation’s Catalyst Program, a selective national management and leadership development experience.
